Design
Florette Project is a small, constantly evolving endeavor that draws inspiration from the botanical world. Currently, I design and create playful, colorful, and boldly shaped jewelry, featuring unique and intricate beadwork patterns that are mathematically and technically complex.
Experimentation and the discovery of new patterns and techniques play a central role in my design process. I don’t sketch traditionally on paper; instead, the shapes of the jewelry are formed organically through experimentation and the materials available. Often, when I begin crafting a piece, I am uncertain of the exact form it will ultimately take.
Exploration is intrinsic to my nature, and partly for this reason, my jewelry pieces are one-of-a-kind, like small works of art. The concept behind my exploratory design process is to consider the various possibilities of creating different variations of a single jewelry model by changing elements such as bead color, shape, or size.
All Florette Project products are designed and handcrafted in Finland.
Materials
All jewelry is created using quality materials, such as Czech glass beads, crystal beads, freshwater pearls, or stone beads. The metal parts made of sterling silver or gold-plated silver are ordered from a jewelry component manufacturer in Poland that has been in operation since 1992. I source other jewelry components through Finnish retailers.
In addition to new materials, I occasionally use carefully selected recycled materials, such as beads or other items purchased from clearance sales. My goal is to combine new and recycled materials to create valuable, beautiful, and long-lasting products.
Designer
I have graduated as a Master of Arts in Visual Arts Education and a Bachelor of Design in Clothing Design. I work as a teacher in the fields of visual arts and design with children and young people. The Florette Project was born from the desire to create a channel for my own works and projects. In my free time, I also draw, paint, sew and make ceramics, which is why the product selection in the Florette Project's online store may change or expand in the future.
